A recent poll by YouGov, which asked adults across Europe for their preferred outcome to the US 2020 Presidential Election, has found that most Europeans would favor a victory for Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
When asked "Who do you want to win the US presidential election 2020 and become the next president of the United States?", 61% of people in the UK said Joe Biden, compared to 13% who said Donald Trump. The biggest support for Biden came from Denmark, where 80% of respondents said they'd prefer a Biden victory, with 6% hoping for a Trump re-election. The narrowest margin was in Italy, with Biden picking up 58% compared to 20% for Trump.
The same survey also found that a majority of Europeans have doubts about the American political process. In the UK, only 31% said they believed the elections would be "completely free and fair" or "mostly free and fair", compared to 44% who said it "mostly won't be very free and fair" or "won't be free and fair at all".
However, when looking at how well they feel Biden would do as president, there was a more mixed response. In the UK, 17% said Biden would be a "Great/Good" president, while 32% said he would be an "average" president. 38% of Brits said they didn't know, and 13% said he would be "Terrible/Poor".
