To celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower setting sail, the Argyle Community Trust (ACT) is inviting more participants to take part in a challenge to virtually run the 5,029km it would take to reach Plymouth, Massachusetts from Plymouth in Devon.

The challenge, which began on October 1, runs until December 31. The 5,029km will be a cumulative total of ACT and any other contributing runners. The Argyle Community Trust is the official charity of the city's football team, Plymouth Argyle. It works on a number of local and regional projects to help the people of Plymouth and the South West, addressing issues including homelessness, loneliness, and health and wellbeing.

If you'd like to play your part, here's how you can join:

Step 1 - Fill in this short Google Form - forms.gle/2LSczbkDtpPojMos5

Step 2 - Download the Nike Run Club app onto your phone

Step 3 - Open the app, and click 'Join Now' to become a Nike member. Remember to use the same e-mail address you used for the Google Form

Step 4 - Turn on the app's notifications - you'll receive a friend request, once you have accepted this, you will be sent an invitation to join the challenge

Step 5 - Get running! Make sure the app is open and operational, as you'll need to be using the app during your running for your distance to count to the 5,029km target.
