UK Visa and Immigration services are re-opening in the United States from July 13. As part of a phased resumption, Premium Application Centers in the USA will be re-opening, including centers in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Washington DC. The center in Seattle remains closed at this time, whilst the Premium Center in LA is unable to open due to the California lockdown.
VFS Global, who deliver services at the centers, have advised that at this time, they're unable to offer "Silver, Gold, Settlement Premium Service Packages and Walk-in services."
For those in the US wishing to apply for a UK visa, as part of health & safety procedures, a prior appointment is essential when visiting the centers. Among the procedures put in place, visitors to the centers may be asked to observe physical distancing, or wear facemasks depending on local guidelines, and those with appointments are encouraged to contact their chosen center to confirm that they remain open on the day of the appointment. If you have Covid-19 symptoms, you'll be helped to reschedule your appointment.
For existing customers who had previously booked appointments, you're advised to log into your account to book a new appointment. For those who had completed their application on the UK Government's Gov.UK website, but hadn't previously booked an appointment, you are now able to make an appointment.
VFS Global note that courier delivery return of documents is included as part of Bronze Package services, so if you have used this service and have received a decision on your application, you won't need to re-visit the Premium Application Center.
As part of the resumption of services, Department of Homeland Security Application Support Centers (ASC) will also be re-opening. Limited appointments are available from July 13, with further ASCs re-opening each week going forward. Check out www.uscis.gov/about-us/uscis-office-closings.
It's also important to keep in mind that, as of July 13, 14 day quarantine rules remain in place in the UK for international arrivals from the USA. We'll update you via TheAmerican.co.uk if this changes, or you can keep up to date with the latest UK guidelines at www.gov.uk/uk-border-control.
