| If you’re feeling as though the ground is shifting beneath your feet, you’re not alone. Reports say that next week, the UK will introduce new lockdown-style measures to slow the current spread of coronavirus. Things are changing, both on a national and international scale. Whether you’re in the UK, the US or somewhere else, make sure you keep an eye on your local area’s status, and what regulations will apply to you.
In some better news, the National Trust is raising the possibility of spectacular autumn colors in Britain, so do keep an eye out on the many forest walks available to take your mind off of things and enjoy the fall season. As Mayflower 400 commemorations continue, there’s also a new series of videos to watch which starts tonight, telling you the story of the churches behind the Mayflower Pilgrims. Hopes have also been raised for a further stimulus check for Americans, as the 2nd Heroes Act passes the House.
In features, we have a great article by US sports expert Mike Carlson about why sportsmanship is essential in life - but not quite what you imagined it to be - and we look back at some features you may have missed.
The nights are getting darker, things are getting unusual again, but we’re all neighbors here at The American. Stay safe, stay well, and reach out if you need anything – a spare cup of sugar or a chat!
