Thankfully after a grim period there are some positives in the air, which we’re bringing you in this newsletter.
Multiple vaccines have been developed, tested, trialled and are now going into millions of arms in the UK, the US and across the globe. But life still ain’t normal, as an Ipsos poll reveals - apparently most Americans don’t expect to get back to any sort of normalcy for at least six months.
Pluses include the IRS allowing corporations to qualify for a new 100% limit for disaster relief contributions and temporarily waiving recordkeeping requirements (in plain-speak, that means more money being available when tragedies strike, and more easily accessible too). The CEO of BritishAmerican Business, the transatlantic trade association, has some positive things to say about climate and Covid. And (a positive, depending on your political color) President Joe Biden has hit the ground running and made, at the last count, 44 executive orders that will change the way that Americans in the USA and overseas will live their lives.
And it’s Super Bowl weekend! Read about how the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers reached the Super Bowl. And in our preview of the game, can ‘Baby GOAT’ Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs’ mercurial QB, retain his crown? Or will ‘the GOAT’ Tom Brady do it for a seventh time, with a new team? It all kicks off at 11:30pm on Sunday. We’ll be watching!
Stay safe, keep well, and enjoy your newsletter. |
