US taxpayers can now support the mission of The Association of Americans Resident Overseas (AARO) through tax-deductible donations.
AARO was founded in 1973. Headquartered in Paris, France, it is a global, non-partisan, non-profit association with members in over 45 countries that seeks fair treatment by the US government for Americans abroad by advocating the issues that negatively affect their lives.
Donors may now support its work by making a donation to Friends of Fondation de France, a code section 501(c)(3) public charity established in New York in 2000 to facilitate US giving to trusted French nonprofits. Donations made to Friends of Fondation de France in support of AARO will be tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted under US law.
“AARO is very pleased that the Friends of Fondation de France has accepted AARO in its charitable program,” said Doris Speer, President of AARO. “This development will benefit our generous donors while strengthening AARO’s ability to fulfill its mission of educating Americans abroad of their right and responsibilities.
Domitille Marchal Lemoine, Executive Director of Friends of Fondation de France, added, “We are delighted to welcome AARO amongst our partners. Friends of Fondation de France’s mission fosters French American friendship, and we are grateful for the generosity displayed by American philanthropists over the years. We are proud to be able to facilitate giving from US donors to AARO, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of Americans abroad.”
