The American is the longest established publication for Americans in the UK - and the longest continually published magazine for expats in the world

The American was founded in 1976. The concept was effective - a unique combination of local and international content for the American population in the UK, initially as a newspaper. In the mid 2000s, it was acquired by Blue Edge Publishing Ltd. and developed into a high quality print magazine, with a digital edition, website and newsletter. It has a distinct, high-end audience. The American's connection within the US community in the UK remains essential and it continues to be a valued, must read, enjoyable voice for Americans and their British friends.
