Competition: Win tickets to visit the Royal Albert Hall for the Festival of Science: Space
Closing Date: May 11, 2018
This summer, the Royal Albert Hall blasts off into space with its first-ever Festival of Science, with a focus on all things space-themed in 2018. This year's festival is comprised of a great mix of concerts, talks and events for explorers young and old to enjoy.
We've teamed up with the Hall to offer a prize of 4 tickets for one lucky winner, to attend one of the below festival events:
My Great Orchestral Adventure - May 26th, 2018
Calling all space explorers! A great concert for all the family - aliens have arrived on planet Earth and they are not happy! The record player on their spaceship is broken and instead of bringing musical messages of intergalactic peace, it’s doing the complete opposite! Travel through outer space to help save the world - make friends with aliens, waltz in zero gravity and enjoy sunrise symphonies, all without leaving the Hall’s magical auditorium.
Star Trek - In Concert - June 2nd, 2018
Star Trek Beyond - In Concert - June 3rd, 2018
Get ready to boldly go where no one has gone before as Star Trek - In Concert returns to the Royal Albert Hall, with Michael Giacchino's score for the 2009 Star Trek reboot performed live by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and conducted by Ernst Van Tiel. As part of a special Star Trek weekend, you can also hear Giacchino's score for the 2016 sci-fi epic Star Trek Beyond - In Concert!
Close Encounters of the Third Kind - In Concert - June 14th, 2018
Steven Spielberg’s 1977 UFO blockbuster Close Encounters of the Third Kind will play on the Hall's big screen in high definition, with John Williams’ groundbreaking score performed live to picture by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and English Chamber Choir, conducted by Ernst Van Tiel. Nominated for eight Academy Awards® including Best Original Score, Close Encounters of the Third Kind remains as engrossing and inspiring today as it was forty years ago.
Space Shambles - June 15th, 2018
Science, music, comedy and wonder collide in Space Shambles, presented in association with The Cosmic Shambles Network. Legendary astronaut Chris Hadfield and Robin Ince (host of Radio 4’s Infinite Monkey Cage) are your hosts for the evening, plus an eclectic host of surprise special guests for comedy lovers, music fans and science enthusiasts alike
