A live auction for From The Ashes, in support of the Xingu Indigenous communities of the Amazon Rainforest.

By News Team | Published on March 6, 2024

Christie's is collaborating with Migrate Art to auction a group of 25 works across the Day Sale and First Open to benefit From The Ashes, a non-profit initiative that supports the prevention of deforestation in the Amazon. Created from ash and charcoal salvaged from the burnt remnants of the Amazon, 24 contemporary artists have joined forces to create new unique works with proceeds benefiting two Indigenous Associations in the Amazon Rainforest.

The proceeds will support the resistance of the Xingu people, and sustain indigenous fire brigades through purchasing equipment and funding training programmes. Funds raised will also support the development of indigenous-led reforesting initiatives across the Xingu territory to help the forest recover.
