Like many events, commemorations marking the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower were severely disrupted during 2020.
With the UK embarking on a mass rollout of vaccinations in a bid to reduce the need for social distancing regulations, the organisers of Mayflower 400 have announced further events for 2021, which will commemorate the ship’s historic journey and its role in establishing the Special Relationship.
The headline event is the Mayflower International Festival, which is due to take place from July 8 to 11. The festival will include: a Mayflower Muster; the Rehabilitation Triathlon, hosted by the Royal Marines; and The Mayflower Four Nations Ceremony, featuring representatives from the US, UK, Wampanoag nations and the Netherlands.
Other events have also been announced, although dates are likely to change due to the recent national lockdown. There also remain a number of online resources and activities you can take part in if you're keen to find out more about the Mayflower history.
