The recommended August 1 deadline to register and request absentee ballots is near. To make sure of a smooth process to make sure your vote counts in a vital ballot, you should register and request an absentee ballot using the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) by August 1.
Using the FPCA allows overseas Americans to:
• Receive your blank ballot electronically.
• Receive your blank ballot 45 days before the election.
• Use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB) as a backup ballot, if needed.
For a step-by-step guide, see below. For more details, click on the guide to go straight to the nonpartisan Federal Voting Assistance Program's website at FVAP.gov, where you can also check your state's submission guidelines to see if you have the option to send the FPCA by mail, fax, or email.
