In 2022, an estimated 4.4 million U.S. citizens lived abroad, and about 2.8 million of them were 18 or older and eligible to vote in U.S. federal elections according to the FVAP.

Former President Donald Trump said Wednesday (October 9) he supports the end of double taxation for Americans who live overseas, according to multiple outlets, marking his latest tax cut proposal in the leadup to the election.

His statement:

Fellow Americans living abroad, your vote is more important than ever. I'm fighting to Secure our Borders, Clean Up Washington, and Protect the Freedoms of ALL Americans, including you and your family. No matter where you are, your voice can make a difference. Register to Vote and support our Vision for a Strong, Prosperous America. That Vision includes Americans abroad: I support ENDING the double-taxation of overseas Americans! Let's put America First together. Register to Vote, and vote Republican to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
