Ballot Box

On Tuesday, March 20, the State of Louisiana will host two special primary elections to fill vacant seats for the 2nd and 5th Congressional Districts. Ahead of the elections, the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) has released details on how overseas Americans eligible to vote in these districts can register and submit their ballot.

For service members, eligible family members and overseas citizens registering for the first time, a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) needs to be filled out and submitted to the relevant local Louisiana election officials by mail, e-mail or fax by February 17, 2021. You can find a copy of an FPCA on the FVAP's website, at fvap.gov/FPCA.

For voters who are already registered, but who have yet to request a ballot paper, you'll need to submit an FPCA by 4:30pm CT on March 19, 2021.

For voters who have already registered and received an absentee ballot, you'll need to return your signed ballot by mail, or fax before 8pm CT on March 20, 2021.

For further information on voting from abroad, and these upcoming Louisiana Special Elections, go to www.fvap.gov.
