NEWS HAPPY INAUGURATION MR PRESIDENT
It's Washington—nite style at Park Plaza Hotels in London, as they serve presidential cocktails to celebrate ObamaPark Plaza Hotels will paint the town red, white and blue on Tuesday 20 January 2009 in honour of Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States of America. To celebrate his historic inauguration, the four London Park Plaza properties have created special cocktails inspired by the President Elect. Pledge allegiance to the American Flag, a shooter of grenadine, Crème de mint pure and blue Curacao at Sherlock's Bar (Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes, 108 Baker St, London W1U 6LJ). Tour The White House with a blend of Bacardi rum, pineapple juice, coconut cream and double cream, invokes the stately home of the President. Welcome Dawn's Early Light — a fusion of Havana Club rum, Amaretto liqueur, blue Curacao liqueur, pineapple juice and a squeeze of fresh lime, or Twilight's Last Gleaming a mix of Absolut Citron vodka, Cointreau, fresh lime and cranberry juice. Arrive at Sherlock's Bar dressed in the colours of the American Flag and receive two for one USA cocktails. Welcome the new First Lady with a Mrs Obama cocktail at Park Plaza Riverbank London (18 Albert Embankment, London SE1 7TJ). Created by Adam Arky, head bartender at Chino Latino, the hotel's bar, this cocktail is a delicious blend of Buffalo trace bourbon, framboise liqueur, raspberries, lemon and star fruit — a drink characterising the refreshing qualities the First Lady is expected to bring to her role. Enjoy the Mrs Obama and get a second cocktail free. Further presidential cocktails are also available at Park Plaza County Hall (1 Addington Street, London SE1 7RY).
